Yes, Nini, I use anchored frames all the time. The FrameMaker finesse,
though, is that no separate frame is required. The sideheads and story are a
single flow of text. What makes a sidebar/sidehead material is its specified
position in a column.
Visually, the result is the same in InDesign. But the handling of text flow
is much more elegant in Frame. Not criticizing InDesign; I live and die by
it. But there are a number of Frame features I'd love to see incorporated
into InDesign. And I suspect we'll see more of that as time goes by.
