Hi all
I asked this in the chain of messages about FMP 11 but think it got lost is the mass of emails :)
I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to confirm if it is possible to use the save as pdf script step in a runtime created by FMPA 11?
This was not possible in v10 runtimes.
Many thanks
Ed

Probably no one has attempted it yet, as it requires a bit of work to test it. I would bet money, though, that it doesn't. But you can print normally and allow the user to access the print dialog where they can choose the PDF pop-up (on Mac) or choose a print to PDF printer (on Win). Not as automated, but it works for many situations.

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the reply. How you suggest is what I currently do, advise the users to print and select a PDF printer. I was hoping 11 would allow me to automate this more.
Thanks
Ed

Not elegant, but it's one of several trade-offs for not having to drop the cash on a copy of FMP for each user.

This won't work because of an Adobe licensing issue. FileMaker would
have to pay a higher licensing fee to include the PDF functionality in
runtimes so it's only available in full client. Seems there's a
similar issue for charts because they don't work in runtimes either.
Best regards,
